The 33rd World Spearfishing Championship was held in the town of Laredo, Cantabria, Spain from September 7 to 10, 2023.

This was presented one year in advance by the local authorities and by the presidents of the World Confederation, Spanish Federation and Cantabria Federation of Underwater Activities.
