On Monday, January 25, the Mexican freediver Alejandro Lemus managed to implant, in the Cenote Ucil of Yucatán, Mexico a new freediving world record of the World Underwater Federation CMAS in the modality of constant weight in fresh water, when descending to the -82 meters and ascend with his monofin, beating the previous record of -81 meters of Italian Pietro Antolini made in September 2020. With this dive, Lemus ends with the two new world records in fresh water: -82 meters in constant weight with monofin and -94 meters in variable weight with monofin.

On Sunday, January 24, the Mexican freediver Alejandro Lemus again surpassed world freediving record of the World Underwater Federation CMAS in the variable weight modality in fresh water, descending (with the help of the sled) to -94 meters and ascend with his monofin, exceeding by 12 meters the mark made by himself the day before, in the Cenote Ucil of Yucatan, Mexico.

This Saturday, January 23, the Mexican freediver Alejandro Lemus set his first world freediving record of the World Underwater Federation CMAS in the variable weight modality in fresh water, descending (with the help of the sled) to -82 meters and ascend with his monofin, in the Cenote Ucil of Yucatan, Mexico.

🇲🇽 Alejandro Lemus will try to establish 3 new Freediving CMAS world records in the Cenotes of Mexico
From January 23 to 26, 2021, the Mexican freediver Alejandro Lemus will try to set 3 new world records for Freediving of the World Underwater Federation CMAS in the Cenote Ucil in Yucatán, Mexico.
Lemus, who has a long history as one of the most outstanding underwater athletes in his country, will try to establish world records in Constant Weight with Monofin, Constant Weight with Bi-fins and Variable Weight, in the modality of immersion in non-salt water (fresh water or lake).
The Italian Pietro Antolini holds the current world records in constant weight with bi-fins and constant weight with monofin, made in September 2020, while this would be the first world record in the variable weight modality
The event will be endorsed by CMAS judges Jaime Moreno from Colombia and Cris McKay from Australia.
